We ended up exchanging this model for the slimmer version ua-cam.com/users/postUgkx0jZ_lGlDVJhDnmagEU8gn47cmfPNlLQU because it was too wide for the only door trim area that made sense to mount it on. However, we should have just noted the dimensions prior to purchasing. Otherwise, we love the doorbell. It works perfectly, and the video is very clear, even at night.
where did you put the maxiprox(is it inside the wall)??
It is right behind the wall. between the fridge and wall

I realized won’t this be considered modification?
What is the name of the microcontroller you used?
works better than 90% on the market right now
I like your direction of buying an already automated door lock. that's probably a better option than what I've come up with. a servo.... but i have to overcome this hurdle as i've set it and it seems worth jumping to learn it.
This is amazing
Does it work with batterriesband how long will it last?
The door lock runs on batteries. The card reader uses 5W so that is connected to wall power
@@AndrewOng It's been 7 years and he's still here
This plastic gears doesn't last very long. This has to be metal.

New York Junky by the time I graduated, there were five electronic door lock companies (August, Lockitron, Kwikset, and two more) and I did not have the expertise or budget to outexecute them. I interviewed with Lockitron but they didn’t offer a job either.
